It's made by "Natrol" and I've found it at Walgreen's. Price is about twelve bucks for sixty capsules, a thirty day supply.

Assuming you use it , how long have you used it, and how is it working? Im thinking of trying either Hair Skin and Nails or Hair Formula 37. If any of you have tried either of these products, Please let me know how it went!
I'm using it

I'm using Hair SKin & nails. I can say that my hair seems to be growing faster and so do my nails (not that I want long nails, I just trim them) and I have to shave (my face) more often per week.

Do you know how long youve been using it? Any difference in moisture, strength, or frizziness? If you had any of those problems to begin with =)

Well now that you mentioned it

I Have not been using it a long time, a couple of weeks, the container was the smallest you could buy (wanted to make sure I liked it before buying the economy size) with 90 pills and you take 3 per day. I have about 20 pills left but I have skipped a few days and tried to make up for it others. As for the difference in moisture strength and frizziness, I think it may have gotten dryer but that may just be because it is longer or it could be that it would have been drier anyway. I can't say for sure yet.

Hello, I have heard you are using Rogaine, how can you be sure that the effect comes from Hair, Skin and Nails? I tried to get this Rogaine (or Regaine) stuff but the skin doctor seems to have difficulties to handle it to me. In the prospect I have read it isn't allowed for people older then 49, so I wonder if I will forget it. Hair, Skin and Nails in German sounds Haut, Haare, Nägel (Merz Spezial Drageesn). It seems to improve the condition of the nails, they don't split off so quickly. If it works on hair I can not say. I can reduce the daily hairloss to less then 10 individual exemplars (in the sink) if I am very carefully and only use thinned shampoo, if I use the unthinned shampoo from the skin doctor the daily hair loss is a multiply of 10 greater, I think I should stop hearing on this doctor, don't know if Hair vitamins will help. The problem is my hair is very thin and the hairloss not obvious, but slowly it thinnes out.

Wolfgang.....if your dermatologist has advised against using Rogaine for your hair situation, it's probably due to other medical conditions you may have...i.e. high blood pressure. The active ingredient in Rogaine (minoxidil) increases blood pressure and is not suitable for individuals who experience this.
You might want to try Propecia but you'll have to talk to your GP first to see if you're a canditate for this as there are side effects (sexual) which you may have a problem with.
For your interest, I have used Rogaine and found little difference in the hair growth (over 7 years now) but it has probably stopped the hair loss. I've been using Propecia since April 2000 and the results have been great. It's been years since anyone has told me I need a haircut and I've been told twice in the past month. I just chuckle to myself because no one knows I'm using an enhancement and I have every intention of keeping it to myself and just letting my hair grow as long as I can.....
Cheers...Dave

Dave, thank you for your reply. The doctor really told about the site effects: increasing blood pressure. The next date will be at 8th Jan 2001. It makes no sense for me using it if it is not free in Germany for people older then 49, I have to clear this question. Thank you for sharing your experience with Rogaine and Propecia.
It's 1 hour after midnight now, so I wish you a happy new year.

Well Wolfgang....I hate to tell you this but Rogaine is not free here either (Canada) or in the U.S. for that matter. There are no drug plans that will cover this product for it's intended use. Minoxidil is covered under drug plans if it's used to control blood pressure.
The prices of the products vary from area to area though. You don't have to use the product under the Rogaine name. As it's been around for a while, the patent for the product is now open on the market so you can probably have a local chemist make you up a home batch of the same stuff. You'll still need a prescription though because the products the chemists make up still have all the ingredients of "Rogaine". They just make them less expensive.
I wish you luck on this.....have a Happy New Year....from Canada.

Hello Dave,
the Regaine idea has finally died. The doctor tried to delay for another 4 weeks so I stopped. It seems she was relieved. Now I use again this hair, skin and nail stuff. With the improvement of my hair care routine hair loss is not dominant currently, in the sink I usually find only 5-10 individual hairs in the morning after combing the wet hair with a wide teeth hard rubber saw cut comb (after washing and conditioning the hair in the bathtub). I think if I am very gentle with my hair it can be preserved for a while. I love it's growing.

Is it in the nutritonal supplement vitamin aisle, or is it in the hair aisle? I didn't look that closely but giving both aisles a look I couldnt find it.

Vitamins, at Walgreen's. Natrol is a full line of nutritional products, and they generally put it with the other products by that manufacturer.
