Photoshop tips, anyone?

I thought I'd play around with Photoshop a bit, to get some idea of how my ponytail might look as my hair growth progresses.
Any advice from you artistic types?

I use Photoshop every day in my job, and I can think of no way to lengthen hair in a picture to look naturally longer. You could change the color pretty easily, but not the length.

Well, at least that saves me some frustration. Thanks...

You can do very convincing hair extensions (nose extensions, ear exensions, or whatever) in Photoshop. I've done it with the Corel Photopaint "clone" tool, but the Photoshop "rubber stamp" tool works the same way. The tool paints one area of the image in another area. It should be easy to lengthen a ponytail with it. With practice, this method is amazingly effective (did anyone see the picture of the giant cat?).

I extensively use Adobe Photo Deluxe, the free, simpler version of Photoshop. Many of the commands and features are similar between the two softwares. The "copy" and "paist" functions work well for hair lengthening. Just select a portion of your existing hair or short ponytail, "copy" that selection then "paist" into it's new position. Since this new "paist" is on its own layer, "move" and "stretch" the ponytial to the desired length. Use "erasor" or "clone" to clean it up the way you want. Works great.
