I put gel in my hair every day. It is the only way I can control my hair during the arkward stage that I'm in now. But always after it has dried and become stiff it just doesn't look like it's healthy for the hair. But this stuff is made for your hair so it shouldn't damage it!?!?!? Do any of you know whether gel can be un healthy for your hair??????

Yes, Gel can damage your hair ! In the past I discovered that the cheap alcohol based gels you get in the large tubes at the drug store dry my hair out, and leave it very brittle. The worst brand I ever used was called something like "LA Looks". Yucco. I suppose I got what I deserved !
I use a little gel every day to keep the loose hairs at the top of my head from giving me that "halo" look. I have found that a Gel I purchased at my local hairstylist named "Kenra" works well. You don't need to use that brand, but when purchasing a Gel you should go someplace where they are knowledgable, and insist on one that doesn't damage hair. They should know what you are talking about.
In the past I tried other gels, including a "natural" one with seaweed in it. I found it to be gentle, but it left myhair feeling stiff and "gluey". My advice is to try a few brands and see what works for you.
