short back and sides worry

hey ive benn grwing my hair for a while nw its about 4 inches on top and about 2 inches around the back and sides.
i started growing out from a short back and sides what i am wondering is this ok to grow my hair out from or do you think i should get a buzzcut and grow from there? has anyone else ever grown out from a short back and sides and have it look OK?

Don't shave your head!
It'll grow out fine, some touch up trims could even help that along in the process if you're willing to take the risk, but by no means cut if off :)

hi, i didn't exactly start the same way but, i started to grow my hair after a total shave, after a while i had trim de back and the sides, cause it was looking like an affro, it's been about 7 month now, hair on the top is about 5 inches, and i just had a light trim today on the back and sides only, and still looks bad, i don't think you can do anything to change it, if i knew, i would have never had that first trim, that one was a killer, if i had 5 inches all around i'll be a god by now, good luck....
