My wife gave me a gift certificate for christmas to have my hair frosted. What do you think about men having there hair frosted. MY wife thinks it would look very sexy.

dave,
to me, frosted hair is a bit 1960's...however, giving you hair highlights IS a good look. there is a difference...
i'm facing that i-don't-wanna-be-middle-aged part of life, and i must say that the highlights (and low lights) i have had done, did an amazing job at covering my gray hair. and i have had a lot of compliments on my hair since...so try it!

Yah, I recall my mom getting her hair frosted in the 70's. But we still do it at school (I'm in hairschool) frequently. Usually we do it on guys with short hair, and we bleach the blazes out of it. Ends up looking pretty good. Sometimes we do it on women with shorter haircuts, and the end result is good. Right when we take the frosting cap off (the way it works, is we put a plastic cap on the head, then we use a small hook to pull strands of hair through holes in the cap, and then we color or bleach just those strands), it looks like small pencil-lead sections of hair about 1" or 2" apart colored/bleached all through the head. After combing through, it looks really good.
The other (pricier) way to do it is to foil . . . that's when you take 100 hairs (or so) at a time and color/bleach 'em, cover 'em up with aluminum foil, and wait for 'em to cook. After processing, the end result is more evenly distributed through the head, and maybe looks a bit more natural. Either way, though, looks good.
I've got one streak of color (blue) in my hair . . . it's only 1/2" by 1", located 1/2" behind the hairline above my left eye. I get different effects depending on the way I part my hair . . . If I part in the middle, only a hint of color shows. A part on the edge of the streak will show only one stroke of color, and a part right through the streak will show two strokes of color. Looks, um, original . . . decorative, for sure. I like it . . .
Anyway, I bring this up to mention that there are lots of different patterns you can color your hair. You can do zig-zags, hollow diamonds, circles, etc. so that you get differnt effects depending on how you part your hair. Use your imagination to explore the possibilities, and then go with what you like . . .

Sounds great. I love frosted hair and get mine done all the time. It is a sexy look for a guy - go for it and love it! Good Luck!

: Go for it you'll like it. After you have it done it will take a few
days to get used to it. It's good that your wife wants you to do it.
Just wish more women were like her. Don't worry about anybody else
just you and your wife.

Hmmm... go out at, let's say, -20°F and stay out a few hours... I think that would be sufficient to get your hair covered in frost!
