I'd have thought the decision should be yours. How can we decide for you?

Do not cut it just because she wants you to do so. She should except you for who you are! I agree with the other posts, she will just find something else to change about you. If you are happy with your hair, then keep it! My long hair has been around longer than all of my relationships with women!
Good Luck.

I agree with Darrin. Keep your hair. Cut the lady, especially if she's used the line, "If you really loved me you'd ______ ! (fill in the blank)" Recipe for an unpleasant relationship.

I always like when the people that love us show us their true side. If you do one thing in your life do not cut your hair. I read somewhere you need the two week rule. If you feel you want to cut it after two weeks of pondering, then do it. Otherwise, tell you lady that this is something you love and suck it up. If you cut it and come back to tell us about it you will not find sympathy here. Good luck!

NO, because after you cut your hair she will find something else about
you she wants to change and then after she done screwing up your life
she will dump you. A true girlfriend takes you as you are.
What would happen if....

....you asked her to do something that was just as important to her ?
No offence intended whatsoever of course, but I do recall one particular favourite saying that some ladies like to trot out on such occasions....
"Love me love my dog"

Would you like to translate that into English?

"If you asked her to do something she didn't want to do, would she do it" i think that's the gist of it :)

Sure.
Plus some ladies can get EXCEPTIONALLY attached to their pets. Lap dogs usually. They'll take them along with them wherever they go, whatever they do each day. So if some poor unfortunate guy really falls for this particular type of pet-loving lady, she will often then make a cast iron rule that he must always accept and love her pet equally as well ! 24 hours a day.
"You can't love and expect to go out with me unless you love and accept my pet, at all times, as well".
So you take her out for a meal anywhere, anything but the pet will always be there ! And you've got to like it or lump it or she'll dump you without a second thought ! You know the type ?
So in this case he should be saying "if you really love me as I do you you must also love my hair"....unconditionally. Otherwise I'll dump you without a second thought. Fair's fair in other words.
OK ?

Don't do it. You'll be unshappy with the result.

: Don't do it!!! Keep it long. If she doesn't like it, dump her!!! There is more fish in the sea!!!! Besides, isn't Equity a two way street, everything from A to Z, including H (Hair). What kind of lady who believes in equity forces her mate to cut their hair short because of your sex?

NO
First of all, it's your hair, so you should decide for yourself whether or not you want it short or long. If you cave in, then she will find another way to control your life. Sounds like she might be somewhat of a control freak.
Secondly, please don't shout.

I agree with previous comments that she should accept you the way you are. Why did she go out with you in the first place?
You might consider a ponytail, if you don't have one. They are a stylish/business look. I wear my hair that way and I like it. My hair is too fine to look great just hanging there.
