what to do, what to do, on the top of my head i am going bald, i tryied everything but i just got to face the fact that im going bald, my whole family on the mens side whent bald so i guess i didnt have much of a chance to not go bald, im really going to miss my long hair. this is a really sad day for me because ive had long hair ever since i was like 14 years old back in the 70's and im finally excepting that im practically all bald on the top there, i feel like a tear is brewing up inside. Well my main question is what kinda haircutt should i get now, is my only option a head shave, im not even going to mention the unspeakable combover. well i need to go and put my fingers through the remaining pieces of long hair i have and feel sorry for myself.

: If you have a nice round skull, go for it. A completely shaved head looks very masculine. Don't comb over anything.

My professor was balding w/ long hair and it still looked cool. See how it looks on you. Or, go for the cue ball look, but for God's sake,
DON'T get one of those wretched combovers!!!

Going bald on top is no reason to cut the rest of your hair. It probably won't grow very long as with baldness comes less growth of the remaining hair. I have not had mine cut for 8 years at all (apart from a trim 8 years ago not for 10 years) and it has been about 2 inches off nipple length for the last 5 years. At that length it can be worn loose or in a ponytail (or even a braid, but hardly worth the effort).
In the end, of course, it's up to you, but most people seem to notice the length rather than the baldness on me, but perhaps that's because I don't act my age.

Have you talked to your doctor? No need to "accept the inevitable" these days.
