Can You Guys Answer A Few Questions?

Hi, I just stumbled across this board while looking for sites on long hair for men, and thought I'd ask a few questions if thats ok.
In November of 2001 (my last haircut) i decided to start growing my hair because i've always wanted long hair but never had the pateince before. At present time my hair is just slightly short of touching my upper lip (when I pull my bangs down all the way).
Now,here are my questions:
1.I have VERY thick hair, and my barber told me I wouldn't look good with long hair. what do you guys think? does thickness matter? I hope not, because I really want long hair.
2.My hair has been growing a little over eight months now. Is it coming along normally?
3.My bangs tend to curl a lot. Is this normal? Will they straighten out?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thank You

Join the club, dude. There is a lot you can learn from reading this Hyperboard, and you will find it all to very incouraging. Welcome and whatever you do, KEEP IT LONG!!!!! 1.Don't you remember Slash from guns n roses? Of course thick hair can be cool. You just need a hat.
2. I dont know. If you mean lenth wise it may be normal for your hair to never grow.
3. if you have curly hair, it will always curl. However, if this is not the case and your hair just "flips" up, then it will go away
hope this helps

I have extremely thick hair as well. I mean really thick. I don't think I've seen anybody with hair as thick as mine on this board. But when it gets long, it kinda flattens out a bit.

1-IMO thick hair looks good to me! Maybe your barber is just trying to convince you to have your money. After all, his job is cutting the hair of people.

: Hi, I just stumbled across this board while looking for sites on long hair for men, and thought I'd ask a few questions if thats ok.
1.I have VERY thick hair, and my barber told me I wouldn't look good with long hair. what do you guys think? does thickness matter? I hope not, because I really want long hair.
- It will look awesome especially when it gets really long. Barbers always tell people no to have long hair because a) they make a living by cutting hair and b) they aren't experts on long hair so what you want to achieve won't be what they would want for themselves.
: 2.My hair has been growing a little over eight months now. Is it coming along normally?
- Growth rates vary a lot. Al the time it is growing, you are getting closer to your goal
: 3.My bangs tend to curl a lot. Is this normal? Will they straighten out?
- Long hair curls more than short hair, sometimes it flips up in the awkward stage, other times a natural curliness has been hidden by never having had hair which is long enough to curl. The solution to both problems is to wait- it will improve with length.
Good luck and keep growing. And if you have more questions, people here will answer them
