Long hair and new job

I was hired in a grocery store. I wonder if they will complain about long hair. Right now, my hair is not that long (I am a four-monther), but it will slowly get longer as time advance. Cutting my hair is out of question and I would rather be fired than cut it. But maybe they won't make a big deal about it?

Maybe they won't. I worked 2&1/2 years in a grocery store and they never had a problem with it. I admire your firm stand on the issue if they do though.

You are cool, rather fired than cut hair. In wich century are we living that you'll get fired just because of long hair? Men have also a right to wear the hair long and no one should complain!!

I worked at a grocery store from the 7-month to the 10-month mark, and they didn't say anything about it. There WERE, however, a number of incidences of customers thinking I was a girl. I laughed about these because I knew what I was getting into when I decided to grow my hair out, and usually it's the people who accidentally called me "ma'am" who turned out to be mostly embarrassed when I turn around.
