he was playing Legolas, one of the elves in the movie. I just saw this movie this past weekend after renting it on DVD. First thing I noticed about him was his hair (along with the many other longhairs in the movie). But when I saw his hair my thought was "I can look like that!"
Anybody else tried braids like that?
Unfortunatley, the hairdo appears to be done only for the movie. After doing a search for other pictures of him, he had dark, short cropped hair.

I have gotten my daughters to braid side-locks of my hair and then pulled them around and held together in the back with a tie. It approximates this look. And, it's okay. On the weekend, I normally just pull those side locks around and tie high in the back to keep it out of my face and to allow most of my hair to stay down. This braided alternative can be okay. Of course, without the bow and arrow and a high adventure, it's not quite the same. : : Anybody else tried braids like that? : : Unfortunatley, the hairdo appears to be done only for the movie. For example, on Legolas, his hairline seemed too perfectly level and not quite sprouting from his head. I realize that it indeed was a hair piece, but it seemed too obvious. Yep, but Viggo (Aragorn) had real hair In Reply to: Re: in posted by xcarc on September 16, 2002 at 23:57:54: unfortunatly it appears he cut it after the movie, according to an interview shot on the dvd Re: in "Lord of the Rings" In Reply to: Re: in "Lord of the Rings" posted by xcarc on September 16, 2002 at 23:57:54: : Does anybody notice that in the movie, the longhairs didn't look too real? I think the fact that the hairpiece is a fair, wheat or honey colour, whereas his own hair and brows look dark brown make a difference. Dark brows do not imply dark hair. My girlfriend in junior high school had dark eyebrows and blonde hair. The same sort of thing is true about beards and head hair.

I wear my hair like that a lot. It's my favorite style. Check the link to a recent post on my Xanga site.
