WWE AND THE LIKE
Posted by SPEEDRACER on September 16, 2002 at 15:42:41: Previous Next
On the subject of "long hair and sports" - I didn't mention the WWE in my original message for the simple fact that most of America doesn't consider this a sport and most of America considers those who watch "Rasslin'" to be rednecks. On the other hand, I'm very happy to see that there seems to be quite a few people on this board who are big fans of the WWE...big fans of the WWE just like I am!!! It was also nice to see some "old school" names in your responses to my original message. Do any of you guys go back as far as The Freebirds with Michael Hayes, Wildfire Tommy Rich, Kerry Von Eric, Austin Idol, Jake the Snake Roberts, etc. I think "The Rock" should let his hair grow out - it looked pretty good on him in "The Scorpion King" movie.

i am like the biggest fan of the freebirds!
(remember "BADSTREET!" HAHA LOL)
the rock is actually going bald so lol i don't think he will grow it but you never know
Jake Roberts has great hair, unfortunitly his career is not in that great shape because of his personal demons
(last saw him in ASCW, isnt he living in europe now?)
i have a huge intrest in the past of pro-wrestling so
with wrestling i go about as far back as you can (back to late 1800's early 1900's) even though i'm NOT that old lol

In response to Billy Ray's insult: His hair is pretty decent, if you consider the damage various chemical substances must've done (and continue to do, I suspect) to Jake's health over the years... Just thought I'd mention this, since I've read comments that one's diet will affect their hair growth process.
What's more, let's not forget that Jake Roberts grew his hair back from scratch after losing a Hair-Match to Konnan back in Mexico around the mid 90s ("OH, YOU DIDN'T KNOW....?!?"). Sure, that was awhile ago, but again, let's consider Jake's history with daemons, not to mention his age; there are quite a number of men who cease to grow hair at Jake's age, so give this legend credit where it's due.

So your point is he's a druggie with a mullet. Some legend.

Yes... My point indeed.
I shall stop now, as I do not advocate flaming people. I will, however, point out that you are very disrespectful. Like I said, it's amazing that Jake was able to re-grow so much hair (considering his age and history with substance abuse). No, it may not meet your ideal if long, flowing hair, but he's managed to salvage a lot more than most people his age would be able to. Yet, you cannot respect that, for the effort he makes... It'd be much easier for him to be like most folks his age and keep the hair nice and trimmed while it slowly falls out, but he's doing the best he can to preserve what he once had. And what, pray tell, is so bad about a mullet, anyway? You're probably like most people, acting on conventional attitudes... You may say that a mullet looks silly, but one could just as easily say the same for long hair in general: You seem to be stuck thinking within the confines of mainstream conformity. On that note, why even bother spending your time at a men's longhair site in the first place? The logic you seem to subscribe to tends to stereotype male longhairs as deviants, "faggets", etc.

Billy Ray, stop being cranky. Jake "The Snake" is awesome. He was an inspiration to me growing up. I'm not really sure what he inspired me to do, but all I can remember is him being one of my favorite wrestlers. I also used to get really scared when The Undertaker would beat someone and then put them in a body bag. I probably had a few nightmares about that. I'm not too sure what this post has to do with anything. I just saw it, and I remembered that in the 3rd grade, I had a Jake "The Snake" homework folder, and on valentines day, I brought wrestling valentines. And brother, if that's not enough to get you to stop ripping on The Snake, then you're just an angry little man who won't stop messing with my childhood memories.

I wasn't putting Jake down as a person. I'm sure he's a gentleman and a true American hero. He just has a bad hair cut and probably dosen't even know it himself. Just like Elvis didn't know he had a drug problem.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion, right? Buds?
I pretty much just wanted to let people know what a goofy little kid I was. Matter of fact, I don't seem to have ever grown out of that.
