Actually long hair is not acceptable in the Coast Guard. But I have had some successful experience with local Guardsmen wanting long hair: developed "longhair" styles which allowed for long tops and bangs which remained undetected when worn under a regulation cap in public (in the presence of their superiors). Find a good stylist in the area of your duty station and go for it. Good luck!

::May you tell us, if you know it, how long was the local guardsmen's bangs when combed down?
Did you any of you already see men in uniform with (really) long bangs?

I would estimate 8-10 inches long. Thanks to gel and a combing technique, when his cap was in place he appeared to have a regulation haircut.
