Gray hair
Posted by Ryan on February 19, 2003 at 19:26:29: Previous Next
I started to grow my hair back long about a month ago after I shaved my head and since I last had it longer my hair is more gray. It seems like the majority of the good people in this forum are fairly young, I am 39, and wondered if any other people had to deal with this and had any suggestions ? I know once it starts growing out the gray will be less noticeable so maybe I shouldn't worry too much about it, what do you think ?
Thanks

Many have some gray hairs...and those hairs can be very stubborn and
unruly. I have some and they misbehave and stick up sometimes.
Grow your hair and they will blend in...hopefully

If you don't like the grey, colour it! You can get away with it until you're in your 50's, at least.
Cheers, Barry

I wouldn't worry in the slighest about it. Besides, the gray can be a rather fantastic distinctive look as one ages. Wear it proudly and enjoy!

I wouldn't worry...while I am only 20, my grandpa has gray hair, so I assume one day I will as well. I say, bring it on!

I work with a guy that has grey hair. It's completely grey. His hair is aslightly longer than mine in a "tail". It looks good. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I'm 40, and I have my fair share of grey hair.
I do color touch-ups. I routinely, every few weeks, touch up grey spots her and there. That way I minimize the grey, yet don't eliminate it altogether. It makes the hair look natural, and keeps my hair mostly brown.
If you want to minimize the appearance of grey, try this. Growing hair longer will not really make the grey less noticeable.

Nah, don't worry about it too much. If it isn't grey all over, once it starts to grow long you will get a sort of streaked/highlighted effect. I've seen people with hair like this and it looks pretty cool.

I may have read it here, but it saying is gray stays. It means if you hair turns gray before you start to lose it, you will stay gray but you won't lose your hair.
At 53 for the first in my life life (now 2 years) I have long hair. I like it very much. Most other do not now that it is so long. I had initially said I was going to grow it just over the collar length, but when it starts to grow from a shaved head, it is pretty hard to pick up a pair of shears and start choppping. So, regardless of the colour of your hear, if you can and want to grow it, do so. Life is too short (aveage 20,000) days to worry about what other people think about hair length

Well said, I am starting growing mine long from a shaved head I did on MLK day 2/20/03 and it is growing pretty fast I have been told. I agree with your sentiments.
