If your Fairy Godmother suddenly appeared and granted you 3 magic wishes about long hair only, however on the 2 conditions that you could not use them for or on yourself or wish for 30 million more (!) what would you really wish for most of all ?

a) No one on the world should be forced to cut his hair. This should be done by removing anything in the world which forces a hair cut.
This would immediately cause World Peace. (No army, no war)
*g*
b) Cheap but good looking / good feeling Hair Extensions for EVERYONE. As easy to apply as in "Long hair in a can".
c) Working and affordable 800-in-1 shampoo

: "If your Fairy Godmother suddenly appeared and granted you 3 magic wishes about long hair only..."
1. That the people who don't like it would
just 'get over it' (too bad for them! ha ha)
2. I wish people would stop *reading* 'meaning' into WHY
I am a Longhair. (Didn't they ever consider that they could
be totally WRONG in their little imaginary world?)
3. And maybe I'd also wish that people could just 'enjoy the view'
when they look at my hair...withOUT feeling self-conscious, or
thinking that I anti this or anti that...and withOUT being envious...
and maybe looking at the PERSON wearing the hair.
Amen & good luck on these wishes comng true...

When people ask me "Why do you have long hair?", I often answer
"One must have a REASON? OH MY GOD!
I don't have a reason!
EEEEEK"

LoL...he..he...
Maybe you can't think of a *reason* 'cause it feels so NATURAL...
. . .so right.

The "reason" I always give is: 'cause I like it...matter of fact I LOVE wearing my hair long. Period.

1) that all the ignorant people who have something against longhairs would just get over it and grow up
2)that all things that require forcing short hair would stop it (wouldent it be a cool sight to see a whole army of longhairs defending us?)
3)
i guess that LongHairs would be seen in a better way in the media, insted of always showing these guys as the bad guys
and it was actually ENCOURAGED to grow it out, showing thats it's whats natural
(for some reason that makes me think of a black and white "Public Service Announcement" saying "Grow your hair, because it's what's natural"
lol

There is absolutely no way I could imagine the longhairs on this board fighting in a war. There are people on this board afraid that swimming will damage their hair... these same people fighting a war??? Yea right! There is no time to deep condition or detangle your hair when you've got an army attacking you. This may sound harsh but it's true. Now the longhaired guys i know outside of this board don't care much about their hair so that's a different story.

No I'm just stating the truth. Could you seriously imagine an army full of people that are concerned if their hair gets split ends or what type of conditioner is best for controlling frizz? Fighting for your country is a serious issue and there's no time to be fooling around with things like this, in that case a buzz cut is definately the best choice.

There are many reasons why the men must have short hair in the armed forces especially when fighting...it will probably never be allowed
Use of turbans by military personnel

Men in certain religious groups in India never cut their hair. They wear turbans if employed in the military (and if they're not of course)! The same would apply to Sikhs in the British forces. I don't know what the rules are in the US military.

For some reason the word "definitely" is butchered constantly. I'm not sure why - seems pretty easy to spell.
Funny spelling story:

I was reading messages on a fish board I frequent. They were arguing as they do every weekday (they get along all weekend???), and the word "knowledge" came up in a conversation.
My uncle was reading over my shoulder and says "well, isn't that something. He's talking about the other person not being intelligent, and misspells knowledge." I said "No, that's spelled right." He says "No it isn't, it's spelled k-n-o-w-l-e-g-e. There's no 'd' in knowledge."
I ended the conversation right there, controlling the urge to pull out the dictionary and proove him wrong. In his case, ignorance truly is bliss.
No, I couldn't.

I can't imagine anyone fighting a war and worrying about their hair. Or their cats, dogs, fish, reptiles, bills, any of the things people concern themselves with on a daily basis.
I couldn't see myself sitting in the middle of a battlefield and thinking "I sure hope my mom remembered to feed my fish today." My children and animals are the most important things to me here and now. But, during a war I don't think the fish would be something I'd concern myself with.
"OK, everyone stop fighting. I just broke a nail." LOL
Odd.

I think anyone with long hair fighting a war would forgo all the things that are talked about here. With the helmets you have to wear, long hair could easily be rolled and tucked into it in a matter of a minute.
You act as if the people on this board are so caught up with their hair that they wouldn't fight. That is a discriminant remark. I know short haired people who wouldn't fight, and would rather go to jail than war.
How do you know what other long hairs do? I bet they all use conditioners at least, and some most likely use detanglers too.
Before I started reading about proper care for my hair, I still used conditioner and detangler. I don't have the time some other people have to spend on their hair, but I do plan to give myself some "me time" to do some extra things that I've heard about...on occasion.
And, most long hair sites say not to wash all your hair...most long hairs forgo washing hair, opting for every 2 days to once a month washings. Short hairs usually wash their hair every day to every other day. That would save long hairs quite a bit of time over short hairs during war, wouldn't you say?
Now, if you agree you're a fool. During war you won't get any opportunity to even get a bath, if there even was one. So, all these short hairs who obsess over cleanliness would be worthless. They would spend all their time looking for a shower.
Blanket bigotted remarks are quite foolish.

Well first off b/c this is a message board, on message boards people are usually more passionate about the subject than people outside of message boards. Second, I know a few longhaired guys and I know them pretty well & they really don't see their hair as a big deal (one guy even chopped a big junk of it off once for $10)

Nothing wrong with that, but during a war there would be no time for this and most people here seem to stress out over a few split ends.

Not at all, not that I have anything against long hair (i wouldn't have grown mine if i did) but when I had short hair although I used shampoo daily it only took about a minute plus another 30 seconds to run gel through it. With my current long hair there is no way I can wake up in the morning and be ready in under two minutes.
: Now, if you agree you're a fool. During war you won't get any opportunity to even get a bath, if there even was one. So, all these short hairs who obsess over cleanliness would be worthless. They would spend all their time looking for a shower.
Just b/c someone has long hair does not mean they are dirty and don't shower! I've got long hair and I would certainly feel just as uncomfortable not bathing as someone with short hair. There would be one difference though, after a week of not bathing my hair would be pretty disgusting looking while the guy with a buzzcut wouldn't have much of a problem there.
: Blanket bigotted remarks are quite foolish.
It wasn't a bigotted remark, I simply have no problem facing the truth. I like long hair but unlike many I'm not going to constantly list the pros and ignore the cons. I'll be cutting my hair in 4 days b/c my hair just isn't very nice looking but that doesn't mean I will glorify short hair either, it has it's cons too. Too many people here try to make long hair seem like the most awesome and perfect thing, everything has pros and cons and there will be times when short hair is more appropriate, you can face it or live in denial... it's not that big of a deal so it doesn't matter but hey it never hurts to accept the truth.

Perhaps it has escaped SixStringThing's attention but this board is
for or about long hair so if we were to apply logical deduction here,
the conclusion would be that the main topic would be....yup, you
guessed it! Long hair!
Oh, sure. Throw logic into this.

1. That every time someone verbally criticized long hair, their hair would suddenly become only an 1/8 of an inch long and it would take ten years for their hair to grow another 1/8th inch!
2.That every time someone would try to pull or cut on an unwilling longhair's hair, they'd get severe pains in their hands causing them to be unable to grip anything for a week afterwards.
3.That the wealthiest and most powerful men in media and politics instantly would grow thick, waist-length hair that would be too tough for any scissors, knives, razors or lasers to cut or trim! This would compell them (and those who follow their dictums) to consider longhair to be the IDEAL for men rather than something to vanquish!
