to get that back bit just under the lump in the vback of ur head shaved from the lump across to where the sides are even with ur ears?
im asking cuz i REALLY hate that back hair especially around the neck area. ... but i dont want to go get an undercut il call it and end up regretting it or it ends up putting back me growing my hair but another year or so. i plan to keep the top and sides the same length and let them grow but the back just plain annoys me to hell.
any advice ?

Buy a round brush and use it with a blow dryer on the back.

Is it too unruly or short to ponytail? I'd just keep it in a ponytail for 6 months, and see how it looks then.
Back bits..

Sounds to me like you are still in your early awkward stages. Maybe I've not getting what you're asking, but I think it was something along the lines of cutting the "mullet" and is it necessary. Oh how it is. I know it curls up and looks stupid in the beginning, but cutting it is a HORRID idea. Not only will it only growing back, but you need that neck hair anyways. It forms the bottom-most hair that starts hanging on your shoulders. Just give it time bud. My "wings" recently started uncurling themselves and I can tell you I look a lot more longhaired now. Keep the "mullet".
Cheers.
