horse shampoo

what are the advantages of using it? i hear long hair guys tell me to use it over pantene or thermasilk, but why? can i buy horse shampoo at a local salon/parlor or same place i can buy all shampoos?
cliff notes:
friend says horse shampoo is better but i want to know how and where i can get some.

I think your talking about the "Main n' Tail" brand of products. I have some of the conditioner and can vouch for it, never tried the shampoo though. One thing I noticed is the conditioner contains coconut oil, and it's somewhat thicker than others I've tried. I've seen these products at eckerds and kroger, although you're not likely to find them at salons. It's not that expensive, give it a try.

Its called Mane and Tail in a yellowish and white plastic bottle and comes in a conditioner as well. I use it on a rotating basis. It was discovered when horse groomers fingernails began getting stronger from using it on horses. Give it a try and see how it performs for you. It can be bought almost everywhere from drug stores to wal marts
