New long hair trend?

I'm wondering, do any of you think there will ever be another long-hair-era for males? It pretty much died out after the eighties (and early nineties for some), but wouldn't it be great if it came back and we were already there (some of us already are) instead of having to wait two years? Not that I care about fashion styles and such, but the discrimination would probably be lessened to an extent.
IMO, I doubt that it will ever be "in" for men to have long hair ever again, since many people consider short hair to be a sign of the times, an advancement in society. I know I've heard "Get out of the 80's! or "This isn't the 80's anymore!" comments directed at other long-haired men out in public before. Back in the early part of the 90's when I was in elementary school, I remember long-haired kids were considered dirt balls and were shunned by other students. Nowadays, people from my old HS and even my own friends seem to make fun of long-haired men. Kinda depressing how childish and disrespectful people can be towards individuality. Conformism seems to be accepted as normal these days.

I'm not Victor obviously, but I have been experiencing the same thing when I click "Post Message" at the top of the main board page. Here's how you get around that problem though. On the main page of the message board where all the message threads originate, scroll all the way to the bottom of that page. That is where the link "Post message" at the top of the main page takes you anyway. It doesn't go to another page, just the bottom of the main page. So scroll down, and you will find the message box. It would be nice to know why the link doesn't work though. Peace!
thanks!

The problem is fixed -- there was some corruption near the bottom of the page.
That happened to me...

Until I figured out that it was all the way down in the basement...
at bottom of the page!
Now the problem is no more!
Thanx!

Conformism will always be accepted by the great mass of people who are frightened to be individuals. It's a concept hard to understand for those of us who contribute to this board, most of whom, I think, are not bothered about being 'different'.

The pendulum has swung towards conformity in other things as well as hair. Whilst that's clearly a bad thing, it's a cycle. Besides, I could no more be a conformist than be a purple giraffe.

I think, there will always be people for AND against long hair (this was true in the 70s and 80s as well). Fashion is cyclical, and longer hair seems to be coming back in style right now (you see alot of longer haired men in movies and fashion magazines now). However in a few years it will go out of style again, then come back, and so forth onto infinity...

But when it's about fashion it never has time to get very long.

I can't really speak to trends, but I wanted to address the issue of social advancement. I actually did some pretty extensive research regarding the issue the cutting of cranio-facial hair (head and face)and its significance in the fall semester of the past year. In many of the psychological reports, people ascribed higher social status to those with long hair and/or beards. They associated power, education, wisdom and autonomy with the longhaired/bearded. Further, the point has been raised by researchers that a reason that men customarily shave daily for office jobs is so that they can present with the "weaker" or subserviant female facial geneder characteristic lacking the beard. Similarly, it was contended that women seeking power in the business world employ male gender cues, such as pants suits or closely-cropped hair.
Hope this is thought-provacative because it was designed as such. :-)

Growing long hair is a freedom in America. Those that discrimanate agianst it are un-American. If they are un-American, what are they. According to themselve they are the enemy. Guess what is next?
