the Feigenbaum

Here are some pics of the hairstyle I like to
call the "Feigenbaum", named after the mathematician
who is sporting it, Mitchell Feigenbaum...
this is the style that I'm striving for...
has anyone here had any luck with it, or have
any advice in terms of fixing it this way?

That, to me, is 'long' hair... there are obviously many levels of 'long hair'... although it's a conservative length, it's what will allow me to maintain a career, without worrying about dress codes, etc.
Just because someone is interested in growing their hair 'long' doesn't necessarily mean that they're interested in becoming a head-banger.
Interestingly,
I've noticed from some of the "progress" pics that some of the regulars here have posted, some intermediate-length styles actually look a lot better than the ever-longer styles they yearn for.
So I suppose beauty is eventually in the eye of the beholder.
it depends whos asking

I hate when people start asking this. if youve never had long hair you think just about anything is long. long is past shoulder length, anything less is just shag. headbanger? please, thats just jealousy.
(LOL. Betcha thought I was gonna say "anything less would be uncivilized")
/me is currently listening to Yngwie Malmsteen- Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra in E Flat

Well said, Doomlord. I consider long hair to be anything past shoulder level all the way around. I am currently a shag head, but I am closing in slowely. Every one is intitled to their opinion about what they think is long, but I agree with your analasis on this subject.
BTW, I used to be in a band where I was vocalist on a song by Yngwie Malmsteen. I can't quite remember the title of the song, but the words went something like this:
There's a hole in the sky
Don't ask me why - Cause I don't know
There's a long way to go
The future will show - Where the road is leading me
I will never die
Cause I will fly - To the other side
I will never die
Cause I will fly - To the other side
I can't remember anymore of it, it's been about 13 years since I was with those guys back then. The song is awesome, though. Maybe you've heard it since you listen to Yngwie Malmsteen. Peace!
as above so below.. I think

I think the song is called as above so below off of rising force(84). I dont think that guy can write a bad song, Ive recently started looking for more of his stuff, the cd he did with the orchestra is absolutely beautiful. Ive also managed to find some video of him playing arpeggios from hell, I dont get tired of watching that, that guy is unreal, you just dont hear speed like that on guitar very often.
/me is currently listening to: A call to Irons-Iron Maiden Tribute- Solitude Aeturnus(local dallas Band) doing some iron maiden song, dont know the name.

When is long hair considered long? When people start asking you
when you're going to get a haircut.
And in some professions it doesn't take much length to
be considered a long hair. Some professions are extremely
conservative when it comes to hair length.

I think he means the TOP pictures. I think that's a pretty decent length compared to most people!
