Blowdryer Safety

Is it safe to blowdry my hair everyday? What's the best setting to use between low, medium, and high? What temperature, between hot, warm, and a cool setting that doesn't seem so cool? Should I throw all of my hair forward, or lean my head back? Roots or tips first? How should I do it to keep it from getting feathery? Every time I blowdry my hair, it ends up feathery... I need some help, here, et cetera.

I'm gonna focus on the temperature aspect.
The problem of cold hair is that it takes ages to blow your air dry. On the other hand, hot hair will damage your hair if the time of exposure is too long (and actually that depends of your hair type), and if the distance between your hair and the blowdryier is too short. Let's say that when you smell something like fried chicken, that ain't good at all.
So, if god blessed you with a blowdryier offering three different settings of temperature (hot , not too hot not too cold, cold) , use the middle setting.
Though, don't take this for guaranteed as I may not have the same hair type as yours and what I said may not apply for you. (and I didn't take in count french weather parameters).
And a last advice, put your blowdryier as away from you hair as your arm allows it :) everyday blowdrying should be ok.
(Sorry for spelling and grammar but hey, I'm just french)

I have the EXACT same problem as you. I've heard that it is bad to blowdry your hair all the time..moreso on hot settings. What i've learned, though, is that it takes decades to blowdry my hair on cool (and It's not even to my shoulders yet!). Adding to that, my hairdryer has a button that must be constantly held in manually for cool air and this leads to major hand cramps. By feathery do you mean just very frizzy and wirey? That is what happens to mine. I feel like to achieve the style and look I want I have to do a lot of risky long-term things to my hair. But to answer the last part of your questions, I usually do it from one side of my head to the other. I comb every hair to the left and begin with right on top of my right ear and work my way over.

I blowdryed my hair for a few months (ive been growing about 16 months now) and it didnt do it much good at all. Now I just push it back tidy over my ears and wrap a towell round it for half an hour and then let it air dry. You could try out a serum, I picked an anti frizz one up a few weeks ago, its at least protect your hair whilst you blowdry it.
the back first

everything I've heard says to start at the back, and work your way to the front. personally I just comb it all back and let it air dry.
