Any tips....hmmmm....take care of it RIGHT NOW. Find a rhythm to taking care of your hair. Maybe, wash 2 times a week, condtion 3 times a week, and take a standard multi vitamin. Lets see....your just starting high school, so grade 9.....at the beginning of grade 10 im sure you'll look stylin', and mid grade 10 you should be happy with your new shoulder length hair. From then, its up to you. Shoulder length is considered "having long hair". If you want to keep growing it even more, well, thats up to you. Your first years the hardest. Im only at 10 months and its been quite the trip. Just some advice, don't think about your hair everyday. Just do your thing till next year, then BAM, your in the zone! haha. later and good luck. Hope to see you around here.

When are considered to have "long hair?"
When people ask when are you going to get a haircut.

If you want to shape it, probably. Otherwise, avoid cutting it. Avoid keeping it trimmed, even.

That depends on the length you're going for. Be warned, hair takes a long time to grow out; on average, about 6 inches per year.

Yup...
And don't let anyone tell you that trimming it will help it grow faster. That's nothing more than a myth. Hair grows at whatever rate your body is going to produce it. No slower, no faster. It's as simple as that.
