keeping hair strait

my hair likes to curl up, i use a straitner but after several hrs its not strait anymore, sometimes it works if i shower and comb hair starit then go right to bed with a wet head, but it never says all that long, any ideas on how i can keep it like that? or whats a real good hair straitner????

From my experience, hair straighteners are designed to work with heat, (blow-dryers, irons, etc.) so putting it in and sleeping on it will not do much. I don't think too many people here would recommend using any sort of styling tool that applies heat to the hair, but unfortunately people with truly curly hair can't really straighten it any other way. Maybe I'm wrong?
