Look pal, not everyone strives for the same goals, you jackass. I sport my Fro with pride, and I'm pleased that it's more unique than say, a curtain cut. Show some open mindedness you semi-literate goon, or better yet, how about just pissing off?

Sometimes, instead of gelling my hair, and having it neat and curly, I'll af-pic it out and sport a pretty cool afro. It turns alot of heads and I even had cars slow down, haha, one guy even pointed at me so his 5 year old daughter could look! Rude, yes, but amusing. Admittedly, its pretty funny, but at the same time, quite cool. I mean, when i wear it like this, I get about 50 percent more positive attention from girls. So yah, I take offense to that 'goon and loser' comment. Not because it hurts my feelings, just because its ignorant.

Ya, it simply a matter of hair strand type. Some people have round strands (straight hair types) and some have oval strands (afro hair types) which behave in different ways than round strands. You can't choose your hair type and probably shouldn't wish for what someone else has if it can't be had.

If you don't have VERY curly hair, you can only get an afro by perming it. Wavy hair will not turn into an afro. Go to your stylist and tell them the look you want they will help you get it.
Happy curls

You will probably get more info from this link.
There are other boards out there that deal specifically with this hair type.

Check out Mich Mitchell and Noel Redding; two white dudes who sported a 'fro! They had their hair permed to achieve that look.
