growing thinning hair

Due to prior occupational restrictions I had never been able to grow my hair long. Things have changed and I'm making the committment. However I'm no longer 18 and the hair has been doing some substantial thinning in the last 15+ years. Does anyone have any tips for growing thinning hair longer. I.E. shampo's, conditioning, supplements?
No tips, but encouragement

Sonny,
Just let it grow as much as it will and you want to wear. There are fans of every hair type out there and yours is no exception. As long as you are happy with your hair, it will be attractive.
