growing thinning hair

Due to prior occupational restrictions I had never been able to grow my hair long. Things have changed and I'm making the committment. However I'm no longer 18 and the hair has been doing some substantial thinning in the last 15+ years. Does anyone have any tips for growing thinning hair longer. I.E. shampo's, conditioning, supplements?

Personally I think long hair looks good when you have a full head of hair. Plus, the hair itself should have a certain thickness. I've seen men AND women with thin, flat, longish hair and to me it just doesn't look good. Think Bruce Willis; the guy has thinning hair and by keeping it short he achieves a great look. If I had thinning hair I'd keep it short. Please keep in mind that I'm expressing my PERSONAL opinions! If you still want to grow it long then it's your decision, it's your hair and you can sport whichever style you please.
As much as some would like you to believe, there are no shampoos, conditioners or supplements that will turn back time.

just grow it normally, theres really nothing you can do extra, besides it depends on the person but some people can pull off the balding long hair look really good
i've got a receding hairline and long hair looks better on me then short ever did

I have no tips except go for it! I have seen many old farts my age bald on top and long in back annd sides who looked great. I am lucky that age 71 I have mmost of my hair but it is thinning and I have to be careful how I comb it.
