I was wondering...

In an earlier post I read from Bill:
"Whenever I see another long haired guy, I make it a point to say "nice hair", "i like your hair", "great hair dude"
whatever. I have never had a negative look or response - always a thank you or some other appreciation. I have been doing this ever since a young man many many years my junior once said to me-"I Like the hair" He too was a long hair. To me it was such a great positive, validating feeling. So I ALWAYS acknowledge long haired guys not matter what their age."
I was wondering if ever a woman came up to you and made a compliment and if so how would you recact. I always wanted to tell when I see a man with long hair that I like it (I see men with long hair pretty often) but I think I would just earn a confused look LOL "what my hair what she's talking about??" LOL additionally I'm to shy to ever say it but everytime I see someone I really want to...

If A woman ever came up to me, I would be flattered, and appreciative. I wouldn't find it offensive at all. I don't like it when women pull on or tug, even in play though. I have had a few friends do that.
Build up the courage to speak your mind, it's a good thing.
Frankly I wish I could have a few women come up to me and compliment my hair! And I wish I could find one who would like to brush it and braid it, and all that good stuff!

I've actually made a point of telling any man with nice long hair, regardless of whether he is with anyone else, that his hair looks great.
I usually get a blush and a thank you.
Of course, they probably think I'm insane...but, I still do it.

That's usually been my experience as well. There is a man I work with who used to have the nicest long hair, but he cut it all off some time ago. I've told him several times how much I miss seeing his long hair, and have asked why he cut it. His reply was that it was too much trouble to take care of. :(

I've heard many stories from guys like that...women like that too, for that matter.
Their decisions are best for them but in many cases people don't go into it with the best attitude to grow it long because they really haven't thought about it much or they plan to conform to social expectations someday anyway. Planning ahead can be difficult to do when it's short(er) and you aren't necessairly planning to let it get that long.
But for those who are making a thoughful effort, the attitude of "it's worth any problems that it might cause" will serve them well in the long run.

Last time i got a compliment on my hair from a chick, i ended up going back home with her for the night, lol. My poor hair that night, i nearly had it all ripped out of my head.

It doesn't happen, but it is also true that I fail complimenting a woman's long hair (if I do not know her over some time). And men with long hair in my regular daily life I almost don't know.
However, if everything would be so clear for me as my love for long hair I could be happy. I wanted to know a long haired woman in this real life to get a little bit of the hair care knowledge from a practical view.

Women compliment me on my hair all the time. It is the best feeling in the world!

2 simple words: "nice hair" tap 'em on the shoulder as you walk by and say them with a smile. i assure you, about 95% of them will smile back and say thank you. :)
i make it a "side quest" on my outings to compliment strangers. wether it be on their hair, or their clothes, or something of that nature. karma seems to pay attention to that kinda stuff, since before i got no compliments on anything, but lately random strangers have been doing the same thing i've been doing, saying "nice hair" "i like your dress" etc.
it's a good feeling on both sides.

That's really cool! I'm gonna start randomly complimenting strangers too.

I hope people who do this can understand that some people may be confused because of hearing or speech disorders that interfere with communication.

actually women are the only ones who ever compliment me on my hair, its been like that since I was 15, the first few times I heard it it did embarrass me, but now I just say thanks and quickly move on, Ive learned to appreciate it more now that Im older. The only guys who have ever said something positive about it usually do it behind my back which I think is kinda funny, I guess they feel itd make things akward to say it to my face. I think women tend to notice more cuz they usually know the kind of work it takes to maintain it.

We love it when you do that. Really. But I know what you're talking about with the shy thing. Sometimes I see a prity girl with wonderfull hair but I can't seem to gather the gaul to say anything. You gotta at least smile at them. Then maybe the'll come over to you. Trust me, noone will ever look at you confused and say something like that if you compliment them; especially about something we care for as much as our hair.

Yes I feel the same too. But I am a naturally very shy guy. Most of the time, I`d like to send out compliment, but you just must get the right time.
