Bad news

Well, Brad Pitt has cut his hair, after having it so long for "Troy"(which looks awesome!) Anyway, I understand that, but I was reading on a message board and what people are saying will come as bad news to any Long-hairs.

I wonder what these people would think if they knew that in real life he prefers to have long hair?

I happen to think Brad Pitt is a celebrity that looks great with any length of hair that he has had. He has a thin and muscular face and is accented with high cheek bones that really add to his looks.
He had fantastic long hair (what I wanted mine to look like), but looks great with it cut short, too. I think looks and hair length are too separate 'paradigms', as far as the whole face is concerened. If one part looks bad, it can taint the other. That's how I have felt about my hair for quite some time now.

Oh I totally agree that he looks awesome both ways, but the thing that was slightly troubling was how everyone was saying he looks so much better without long hair. Oh well.

He looks awesome both ways and shows that hair grows and gets cut. Obsessing over it either way is silly. He has enough confidence to not let his hair rule who HE his. Remember its hair, hopefuly all of us realize we are more then our hair. Allow each person to stand on the imortant things ie, personality, charm, integrity.

Pity its not always compatible with being an actor though isn't it?

I checked out the site that showed brad pitts new hair cut. Man, i cannot believe how many people are anal towards longhairs! If people really like one hair style, cool, but don't go making people feel bad because they choose to live differently as an individual. geeze! I guess that's what i can expect for myself as I am growing mine out. If people want to say somthing ignorant about somone they should have done so in private, not on the i-net where more people might see it and join the "longhair is gay club". there should'nt be any dicrimination. Personally i'm going something like his long hair cut. sorry about my complaining, but, a couple of comments on that site bugged me a bit.

That he's giving in to pressure. Fabio has never shortened his hair, to name one. There are some with long hair who get parts BECAUSE they have long hair.
Of course, most just have extensions added for parts. :P
It's so much easier to fake long hair than short.

Yeah, and from what I can see Brad generally lets his hair grow long any time hes not doing movies for a while, he seems like kind of a scruffy guy in real life actually
Um...

He's an actor. Actors have their hair cut for parts. I think Pitt had his cut for "Ocean's 12" or something, maybe it was a different movie.
Bottom line: dedicated actors who love the craft will usually do anything to continue their career, I don't think he's "giving in" at all.
Could they be more wrong?

He looks ten years older with that short hair.
I miss the "interview with a vampire" or, the "legends of the fall" look. So much more manly, rough, devilish, natural. Brings out the color of his skin and eyes.
With short hair he just looks sad and old.
This isn't to say I wouldn't jump him if given the chance, hair short or long...
LOL

Brad Pitt is still the friggin' man. His hair in 'Legends of The Fall' makes up for anything he could possibly ever do in the future. :)

PS: Actors usually grow out their hair inbetween movies because you never know which role may be coming next.

I don't know how representative those comments reflect the general opinion society at large has on long hair and if they are, then long hair on men is favoured by a small minority in society.
However, I suppose these are one of the drawbacks of being an actor -- ie one has to cut one's hair for most roles.
Brad Pitt certainly looks great with long hair and the same applies to Johnny Depp, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (who had really long, beautiful hair in one film -- ie Ride With The Devil).
I guess being a musician or artist is a safer bet for long hairs.
