Hello everyone im growing my hair sice september 2002. Is about 10 inches long now. But my question is, does trims make ur hair grow faster? Lot of ppl are telling me this, that if a trim the ends is going to grow more faster. Wot u think about that? should i trim? my ends are really damage.

I honestly couldn't say. I grew mine from what you might call a "skinhead", without any trims. It has been about 4 years now, it is curly and has grown quite slowly actually - I'm not sure how to measure it but I think mine is around 10 inches too; maybe more. It's past my shoulders anyway.
I think at the length yours is at, you don't really need to trim it to help it grow, as it is already long. If you want it to be dramatically longer, however, you may want to try having an inch or two trimmed off. I have also heard many a time that it helps. I didn't care though, I'm not really interested in my hair (which begs the question "why are am I here?" hehe), so I just left it to grow.
PS: Ulver used to be a good band. Bal-Sagoth are my favourite. :D

trims will NOT affect the rate of growth- which occurs at the roots and not the ends.
if your hair shows alot of damage then by all means- trim your ends to clean things up but not to increase growth rate.

As far as growth is concerned, trimming has one and only one effect, it makes hair shorter. The hair root ( where the growth occurs) doesn't know how long its attached hair is, nor does it care. Its going to produce out about half an inch of hair each month whether you keep your hair is shaved or ten feet long.

NO!! The growth rate of your hair is in your genes and no trims or any other thing can make it grow faster, its a story wich I often heard in my childhood and even then I didn't belive it.
