You can't see the length clearly in this shot but my bangs are about an inch beyone my mouth, but my hair is pretty thick and wavey which makes it pretty hard to keep looking neat.

Hi guys
I've been a bit quiet lately, so quiet that I'm posting these pics over a week late. But anyway... Its been a little over a year since I started growing.
I had a maintenance trim on Feb 11th which I really regret. I only went along to keep the appointment I had made 3 weeks earlier when I was going through a bad patch. Anyway the trim took out my layers at the front (which has made it thicker and harder to manage) and took about 1/2 inch off the back, (mistake it just made it more curly) So there is little progress to see from January. But anyway, here's to consistency... I give u Feb Progress Pics in March.

The back can just become a mess of curls. But by my reakoning I'm about an inch away from growing through this stage.
So the half tail has become my daily-wear style, atleast like this I dont have to worry about getting windswept or it falling all over the show.

A fine head of hair which suits you well. The waves probably seem worse to you than they to to me.

Your hair is looking better all the time. No more trims is a very good idea for at least a year, just let it grow and it will become easier to manage as it gets longer. Absalom

Your hair looks great. You are obviously taking good care of it. Don't beat yourself up about the trim. I did the same thing. I guess we all have to learn on our own. The trim you got looks to have been quite reasonable. Thanks for the update.

Thanks for the comments people, and all the great compliments, I feel a lot better about my hair now.
The trim... well the idea was to try an even my ends up so my hair would begin to take on the shape of been all one length, but given the outcome I've chatted with my stylist and because my hair is so thick we are still going to trim the ends pretty blunt but leave some long layers in it make it a little lighter.
To be honest I was OK before the trim, and I should have cancelled the appointment, but I kept it all the same and as a result I learned a lot more about my hair and how I should have it styled.
Overall not a great month for growth progress... but I'm gonna leave it alone now for a while and see how it goes.

I really think you need to stop having all these trims. Your hair has looked very nice in all the photos, both pre- and post-trim, but it's not getting longer very quickly. I assume you do want it to get longer?
If you have it cut blunt and then have it layered, aren't you just back to where you were at the beginning? Stop it!

Pretty much yeah - I'm back where I started... but at least I'm happy with it. And that's what I need in order to keep growing it.
Incidentally I've had the long layers put back in the front and sides and its much easier to control and I feel comfortable wearing it down again, something I wasn't when it was cut blunt cos mostly it took on a "page boy" look.
At worst I've wasted a month... so what - I've waited a year so far and I have atleast another 6-9 months before I reach my goal, so whats another 4 weeks?
