Terminal Length question

I read a thing on terminal length that said usually the shortest terminal length is 1 foot. Does that mean that each hair is a foot like the upper layer and the bottom layer is each that length. Or does it mean that the hair all together is a foot?

I don't know why anyone would say the shortest terminal length hair is a foot!
Actually, it's really all about the length of TIME each
individual hair has been growing. So that even someone with hair only 1 inch (or less) will lose hair too.
I suppose what you really mean is how long can an UNcut hair grow
before it falls out. Again, other factors like genetics must be taken into account.
Some people are blessed with genes that allow for hair to grow several feet,
before reaching 'terminal length.' While others will have shorter
growing cycles and shorter hair, of course.
You also have to consider that some folks will have hair that
is so badly damaged that it breaks off (this is not true terminal length) and so their hair never gets long.
I don't know what the SHORTest terminal length is...
and for most people, there is really only one way to find out:
Let it GROW!
Hope that info helps.
PS: I have no idea what MY terminal length is as
it just keeps growing and growing.
Good luck on your Journey!

HAHA you know if you didnt have a problem with paranoia before growing your hair. Theres a good chance you will once you start I swear. Once again Im paranoid because like each hair has reached pretty much 12 inches. And now doesnt seem to be growing at all I wish I could go into a coma and have someone take care of my hair for me until the growth time i want is up.

As someone posted previously when you hair reaches a certain length past your face you loose reference points by which to measure the growth. Mine is only at my eyes at the mo...but when it gets to my nose I'll know about it. If yours 12" long then it is probably growing at the same rate however because it is long you dont really notice any difference.

I know what you mean I've often thought of telling someone if I ever was unforntunate to end up in a coma - do not cut my hair not matter what. Imagine waking up to a skin head and someone saying it was easier to manage that way...id be mortified

I agree. The hair is still growing but if it is 12 inches, it is harder to
notice the growth. But hair rarely just stops!
what about bald people...

For baldies terminal length is zero inches! But some people can grow their hair down to the floor or even longer. I guess it varies for each person, I think the common terminal length is longer than a foot though...

In June it will be ten years since my last cut or trim, and my hair has only grown very slowly to about a foot long, and that's not because of damage or breakage. Most people can grow their hair much longer than that up to floor length or longer. The average is reckoned to be six years growth at six inches a year, total 36 inches.
Only one way to find out - wait for six years without cutting and see.
