I think its coming along nice. As far as the 'paranoid' thing in the previous post- It probally is just paranoia for the most part, if you think about something so much it can become beleivible, kind of like someone whos anarexic..they never see what the reality is, just whats in their mind. Don't let it get to ya, its looking great keep growin!

Thanks alot for the compliment, I think it looks like crap personally, maybe I'm just getting paranoid I don't know, but I just do the norm, wash it, deep condition every week, I use a ionic, ceramic straightening iron on the bottom in the front sometimes, it just mostly lays like that, thanks again for the compliment.

eh I'm not sure, my goal was pony tail length which it now is, but I'm nervous that it looks weird on me and will make my now receeding hairline worse so I'm not sure, I'm contemplating cutting, which is why i made these posts for some advice or inspiration or something, so I'm not sure yet, but thanks for the compliment

I know what you mean about not getting replies. I eventually just stopped posting pics except for the occasional one every few months or so.
Anyhow, I was wondering something. You mentioned using a bio-ionic flat iron. Is this the expensive one that doesn't do any damage? And is your hair naturally straight or curly?

Yeah I about gave up on posting too, the one I bought cost me $100 but it's supposed to be the best one out now, or so they say. My hair is wavy, but it's straightened out alot the past few yrs as it's got thinner I think, but now it's mostly wavy in the front, sometimes, as in my pics it works for me and other times it doesn't

Chris,
Perhaps I'm the Lone Ranger here, but I think your hair could use a better style. It could be the picture quality, but that's just my opinion. Do what makes you feel comfortable and don't worry about what other people say.

You are stressing on your hair entirely too much. Relax and let it grow. It looks good, and will look better and better as it grows longer.

You just want it straight.
We look at ourselves more harshly than others do. We notice every lump and bump, whereas someone else wouldn't notice.
I've told you before, and I'll tell you again; stress causes hair fall-out. I understand it's stressful for your hair to thin out, but you're making it worse by stressing over it.
I lose twice as much hair as normal during holidays because of the stress caused by my family. I've now chose to drink as much as possible instead of stressing, and let them all fight it out amongst themselves. LOL
If I were you, I'd just take a good multi-vitamin every day, and stop looking so closely at your hair. Just let it go. Don't worry about what others think. I know that's easier said than done, but "sometimes you just gotta say WTF."
I spent the better part of my life worrying about what other people thought and trying to please "johnny public." I was miserable.
I'm much happier now that I don't worry about anyone being happy except myself and my children. People seem to like me more now too????
It's weird, but true. Now that I say "screw you, I don't care what you think" people like me more. I guess it's because I'm being myself instead of trying to be what I think people want.
People actually like individualism. They want real, not plastic. Be true to yourself and you'll never go wrong!

Sherri, I know what you mean about loosing more hair when your stressed. I am doing four Advanced levels and the amount of coursework I had to finish for biology was enough to turn a guy bald!
Ok, I didn't exactly go bald, or have the 'salt 'n' pepper' look either,:), but I was really stressed and I noticed I was loosing far more hairs than I was used to. Chris, stop stressing and stop looking at ur hair everyday to see if its growing (if you do that?)It'll definately grow. I now check it about every month to see, not everyday, as I did when I started to grow it, LOL:p
I'm so happy I haven't got really short hair now, although its not anywhere near long either, I think long will suit me FAR better.:)
Sherri, have you had time to update the hyperboard pics yet?
Thanks:)

Hi :-)
Why is your hair falling out? Is it related to the stress of the straightening iron? If so, there has been a lot of talk about a new type of straightner on the board that is not supposed to cause damage. Or is it falling out due to male pattern baldness? If that is the case try the perscriptioin drug Propecia...it will stop it and you should regain a good portion of the hair you lost. Either way there is a solution.

just mpb i think, my hairline is receeding i think its from parting it for so many yrs ive had this style since i was 14..im 23 now, i started on propecia last week, but im nervous about it, theres no guarantee it'll work and the side effects can be bad, go to hairlosstalk.com, you'll see several horror stories about it, and im sure the iron is hurting alot it seems thinner in the area i use it..thats why i was thnking bout wearing it in a tail, to give my hair a break from parting it and using the iron on it, but i know that'll hurt my hairline more so im still not sure what to do

I have had my hair parted in the center my whole life. I'm not losing my hair.
STRESS CAUSES HAIR LOSS!!!
I know, I'm not a man. I would use the propecia, and NOT WORRY ABOUT THE SIDE EFFECTS!!! You worry entirely too much. Life is too short to spend so much time worrying about things. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen. All the worrying in the world will not change it.
Do things that make you feel good and forget about your worries. Now I'm getting worried about you! LOL

Hopelly this will help reassure you...I've been on it now for about two years, and it has worked wonderful for me with no side effects. Soon after taking it my hair stopped falling out, and within a year of taking it I got back most all of what I lost. The important thing though is to keep taking it, or the hair does start to fall out again.

Yes, mine started growing back around the hair line. And I'm 40. One day when my hair grows long enough I will post some pictures so you can see. I've only been growing my hair since December, so it is now like 3 1/2 inches long and awkward looking, and i'm far too vain to take pics of it while it grows, lol. I will post a link to my web site that has several pics of my short hair (before I started growing it) and you can at least see that propecia has been working for me.

If your hairstyle is receeding because of the parting, then I'd say you should change where you part your hair.
The way you style your hair rarely causes pernament hairloss, it just causes breakage and damage. So change the part and see if this helps.
