Red Harvester Ant

I wanted to get a closeup of a group of the ants. They were most concentrated near the entrance to their nest. The problem with photographing them here was that I could not do it without stepping on their property. To avoid getting bitten, I therefore stayed in that position for as little time as possible. Consequently, I didn't set the camera for the depth of field I needed for a really good shot. Click on one of the thumbnails below to see a larger version of that picture.
