I've noticed recently that many girls at my school have let there hair grow very long. I've noticed about ten girls with hair near the bottom of their backs.(I go to a small private school) I also noticed that many of them, as well as girls with not as long hair, are wearing a relitively high braided ponytail. My hair is almost halfway down my back and I wear it this way too. I find that a lot of girls tend to play with my ponytail and do things with it. for ex. one girl wrapped it into a bun. Anyway, Is very long hair making a comeback?

Very long hair is very seldom in Germany (if very long hair means butt length or longer). Long hair means usually shoulder length or mid back length, one can see it every day, but only a small percent of the population wear it long, even young people often wear it short or very short. The only hope I have: shorter isn't possible, or the population would change to baldness (a part of it already changed).
I guess that 30% (even more) of the men between 20 and 50 have less or more problems with baldness, much more as long haired men exist (only some percent).
At universities the women often wear long (even very long) hair, but the men in general have it short. Artists often wear it long. It seems so that the usual way of living contradicts long hair.
I wish you good luck within your little long hair paradise.

A year or so ago all the big fashion designers featured lots of models with long and very straight hair (or extensions). This coupled with the '70s retro fad has infuenced alot of girls to wear it long and straight. Look at the cast of "Friends" (a major hairstyle influencer). The trend will continue for awhile, then some other look ("Afro" perms or something!) will come into fashion.
Good-looking long hair never goes completely out of fashion, though.

Okay here is a little history:
I've always had long hair for a guy (a little below the ears). At that time I could get to into a halfup half down ponytail. When I was 12 I started growing it longer untill it got to about 4 inches past my shoulders. I usually had it in a medium to high ponytail and or a bun. And one time when I was 13 I got it all braided and wore it half up half down. After that I started to grow it longer and now I am 15 and it is down the middle of my back. I usually have it in a braided ponytail, french braid or just a ponytail.
