im having second thoughts.......

hi. i've been growing out an undercut(from a buzzcut) for about 4 1/2 months and it is at the tip of my ears right now, but it is horrible; Dry,frizy, puffy, wavy you name it. I always have to put tons of gel in it, which helps to not make it frzzy/puffy but it is still out of control and sticking out everywhere and I hate having gel in it because it makes it all hard which kinda ruins the point of long hair doesn't it? I was wondering would "regular" long hair have made things better for this type of hair? worse?? if it would be better, is it too late to start growing it all out b/c i really would hate to cut off what i already have just to start all over. If not, i'm thinking of just going back to short hair even though i hate it.

Hi.
I'm only 1 1/2 months without haircut but I can give u a tip that might help u.
I've tried using gel but as u say it's not pleasent to have ur head being "frozen" so I use hair moisturizer-it's shapes ur hair, it's pleasent to touch and it adds health to ur hair(or so they say).\
Also it might be helful if u posted a picture.

Hey rob,
I was in the same situation about a year ago.I too have an undercut/long hair. I was really thinking about cutting my hair (it was down to about my chin though.)because i hated dealing with the little flips in the hair frizziness and all that stuff. I used all types of gel (the anti-frizz kind, the extra hold etc). But i then made friends with someone who had shoulder length hair and an undercut, and it looked cool. So i decided then to stick it through and let it grow. And sure enough i love the results. What i recommend getting is this stuff called Pro Vitamin Hair treatment capsules (they look like medicine gel caps). There's a couple of kinds. I use the purple ones that say INstant Repair on the package. It makes the hair soft and a lot less frizzy. Also use a bit of gel to take away the frizz almost completely. But i think at this stage, if you don't want to have those awkward flips and crap, use a lot of gel. And just stop thinking about how bad it looks and think about how cool you'll look later on in about a year.
I did, and now its quite past my shoulders. Hope this helps.

where do they sell these hair capsules? Oh i had one more question, does it matter how far up the sides are cut? I have a feeling that when i pull my hair back, the top part looks to thin but maybe it is because it is not it's full lenght yet or maybe i am just paranoid, I don't know. Anyway thanks i appreciate it

They should sell the capsules in any beauty shop. If you can't find them, go to their website pro-vitamin.com Also yeah, it does matter how far up the sides are cut. the more they're cut, the less hair you'll have/less full looking your hair will be.
BTW what do you mean it looks too thin? Do you mean when you try to put it in a pony tail (i dont think you can at this point) well i think thats what you mean. After 2 years of growing my hair with the undercut i have my hair parted in the middle and tied back so that hardly anyone notices at first that i have an undercut (especially good for a job). So don't cut it!
