Anyone want to grow their beard?
Posted by Remi on January 07, 2003 at 17:39:21: Previous Next
I noticed something : some men look like girls when they start having long hair. This is one of the reasons why I will let my beard grow. I don't like looking like a girl too much. Anyway, growing beard and hair is very similar; these two things that are natural. I can't let my beard grow at my job, because it is forbidden, but my last day is saturday! I am going to college after that, finally a place where I can let my hair grow while doing something valuable. I'll quit my job. I can't wait to have a beard, even if I doenst have a lot of facial hair. My last shaving will be either wednesday (tomorrow) or friday. (I shave at every two days.) After that I stop shaving.

Beards look good with longhair and send out the message that you're a guy...
for sure.
I cant have one cause my beard hairs are of brown, red & blond...
very tough hairs! My skin, on the other hand is very sensitve so
any movement of the hairs causes redness & irritations
so off it had to come.
But I would like a goatee

Can't stant the feeling of a beard on my face. I tried once but it lasted only 11 days. So damm itchy. But, hey my brother in law has had one since 1977. To each his own. If that's what you want, good luck!

I find that after the first couple of weeks the itchiness drastically decreases or goes away altogether.
Beards rule!

I think beards (or any type of facial hair for that matter) go great with long hair. I do tend to get bored with facial hair styles, so for a couple of weeks/months I'll have a full beard then, I might reduce it to a thin beard... then a goatee... then a half-goatee... then maybe clean-shaven and I start the cycle all over again.
Good luck!

Beards? I can pretty much take 'em or leave 'em. Some guys look great with beards & some guys look like idiots with beards...you just have to evaluate your situation with how it looks on you. Now a days you can buy razors that pretty much do everything but cook breakfast for you. The razor I have has a setting on it that I really love. I usually shave about every other day & the setting I use gives me a permanent 5:00 shadow look 24 hours a day. My wife, as well as other women, say that the "permanent 5:00 shadow look" is extremely sexy in their opinions...so just find what works best for you & good luck with it.
Good luck going off to college too. Those were the best days of my life & I always wish I could go back in time and do it all over again! I started growing my hair out my senior year of high school...back in 1986...and have had long hair ever since.
What razor is that?

That sounds pretty cool! May I ask what razor that is?

I think Remington? My wife picked it up at Wal-Mart (of all places) one day last year.

I have thought about growing a beard but since I'm half American Indian it's harder for me than for others.
But, I can grow a decent moustache and my wife loves it so that is how I deal with facial hair.
There were a couple of times people thought I was a woman from the back until I turned around and they saw my moustache! The look on their faces was pricess.
Good luck with college and growing your facial hair :)

Nope, I don't care much for beards, esp. on people like me with black hair. I do have an extremely short facial hair thing going on... don't know what it's called, it's really thin and subtle, thinking of getting rid of it too.

I think a beard, whether it's the small, closely cropped variety or the long and full kind, really looks good with long hair.
I started growing my beard out a few years ago, and as of now, it's about 4.5 inches. I must say, I never really understood the whole long beard thing til I had one, but I don't see me ever going back to clean shaven!
BTW, college is DEFINITELY the place to grow hair/beard. Pretty much everyday, I see 10-15 guys with longhair, most having at least some facial hair as well.
