Kevin Fowler is a country singer. I don't know the name of his guitarist, but there are plenty of pictures of his magnificent knee length mane on kevin's website.

I like most of today's country music (and some of the older stuff), sixties, seventies and eighties rock, some light jazz, and most classical music. I absolutely cannot stand hip hop and rap.
And I'm a really big fan of long hair.

Another ignorant person who can't understand what rap is all about. They talk about real things, things that happen in the streets. Things that they lived through and have seen (the real rappers, not the posers). Rap stands for Rhythm and Poetry. Takes a lot of skill to mix these to. Not only that, can't understand whats not to like about in many cases, superb sounding beats. Not everyone lives a fairy tale life like you do. Seeing as you like country music, I wouldn't expect you to understand something urban aka modern.

Michael said nothing about not respecting rap artists. He simply said that he didn't like it. Maybe it just dosen't tickle his fancy. You've proven in your last post that you are no better than he as you blasted country; a more popular music genre in America than rap.

Rap dominates Urban parts of America, where it matters. California, New York, etc. If country is bigger than rap, find me a country artist richer than P.Diddy or Master P. This new generation is the hip hop generation. Even suburban white kids try to be gangsta.

I don't want to inferfear in your discussion, but am now doing so anyway.
You are only speaking out of your own oppinions, just because you say it's so doesn't make it so. I myself really hate rap, but that doesn't mean I respect the oppinion of those who do.
You say "where it matters", again that is only your oppinion.
"This new generation is the hip-hop generation", I am 20 years old, telling me I belong to this generation, I see as an insult.

You hate rap cause you don't open your narrow mind and listen to what they have to say. "Where it matters" isnt just my opinion. The important targets are city and suburban people. You think they care what the person with the cows and horses think. It's ok. Take a look around you. Look at the quality sneakers like Nike, Reebok, etc. Their styles are all influenced by hip hop. Unless you wear cowboy boots you would know that. Look at all the quality clothing like Sean John, Enyce, Ecko, Avirex, Rocawear. Akademiks, Tommy, Polo, Phat Farm, Gucci, etc. All the most trendy, expensive name brands. They are all influenced by hip hop. Unless you shop at the Gap or wear cheap cloth you would know that. This generation is the Hip Hop generation weather you like it or not.

May I interject?
I used to really hate rap too, but my friend listens to it all the time so I was exposed to it and became accustomed. I personally like anything with a good beat, but I do listen to the words too...some of them are truly inspirational and eloquent. But everyone has a preference, and maybe it's best to agree to disagree. Funny how music is such a powerful force that it can start arguments, eh?

You proved my point, you opened your mind and realized it wasn't what you thought. Funny thing, as a kid, I didn't like rap. Then liked it when I became older. I think I was 11 or something. I will be the first to admit some rap lyrics are extremely degrading. There are also other meaningful ones.

Yes, I suppose I did. I tend to be a pretty open minded, uber-liberal person, but not everyone is. I accept it, even if I don't like it: they are only hurting themselves by being prejudiced. But arguing the point is just like beating a dead horse, and wastes more energy than it's worth. Besides, if we all liked the same thing, the world would be pretty damn boring, now wouldn't it?

: Actually i dont care if his hair is down to the floor!
its amazing to see a man with such awesome hair length,
must have taken him atleast 15 years to grow it? and
lets not forget the confidence and pride for exspecially
a man to publicly display hair that most females would
die to call their own'perhaps he is on a personal mission
just to see how long he can grow it? but in essence no matter
what you do its impossible to please everyone! first you must
please yourself!! then who ever agree,s rellish your reward'
and for those who condemns and cast judgement against you`
mentally mute out thier conforming voices that would have
you become like them and distroy your threatening image
that makes them question their own.All i can say is i find
this guys hair a breath of magnificent flowing beauty that
is rarely if ever accomplished by man or woman.

I am not saying that the lyrics don't held some kind of meaning, and some people might find them interesting. But there's more to music than the lyrics. I respect your oppinion, you should do the same, and realize that not everyone thinks and feel the same way.
Have you ever sat down and really listen to black and death metal giving it a chance to like it? If not, I could say the same thing to you about narrow mindness.

I mostly wear leather boots, and don't like sneakers. But even if I were, that doesn't mean I should like rap. I respect the genre, I simply do not like to listen to the music.

There's a lot of things you could say about this generation, and every other as well for that matter, it all depends who you are talking to and what they find important.

Nobody said I didn't listen to metal. Yea there is more behind music than lyrics. It does have more than lyrics, it has great beats. Another thing, you wear leather boots? Not to be mean but I think you might need some styling tips. Nothing wrong with wearing them occassionally, but everyday? I kinda doubt your cloth aren't cheap when Gucci, Versace, Coogi, or any of those names arent involved. When I say expensive I mean you pay anywhere from 50-80 dollars for jeans.

And I never said you didn't, what I DID ask was if you had, and if NOT, I could say the same thing to you. I simply choosed a genre most people who listen to rap don't like. It was merely meant to make a point, not target on you specifically.

I wear what I think looks good on me. Do you really think that everyone in the world have the same taste regarding clothes and what looks good? You keep judging me for my taste and my opinions, still you call me close-minded for not liking rap, do you not see the irony?

I usually wear leather pants, and the ones I wear most of the time costs just above $200, made by SakiPuls.
My point is simply that not everyone can like the same things. Just because you think rap contains everything you like, doesn't automatically mean everyone else should think the same. That doesn't make any of us right, it's simply a matter of taste.
I respect your opinion, you should do the same.

I don't disagree that rap is the quickest growing genre of music. However, country still outranks rap in popularity. You're forgetting about the deep and vast south....from northern florida to texas to iowa. Take a cross country drive and ironically that's what you'll hear on the radio the most. Country.

Me too!!! I don't think that day will ever happen for me however, but it's nice to see that some guys have been so blessed. I guess I live out my dreams of having incredibly long hair vicariously through those who already have such long manificent manes. That's why I enjoy seeing pictures of guys like this, because it lets me know that some people actually do have really long beautiful hair, and I envy them, and hope they appreciate what they have.

hBK,
There is no need for you to agree with what others find attractive. What does seem beyond propriety though is to deride something others here have said they wish for themselves. Being encouraging to all long hair here is as easy as not saying hurtful things. Depending on who is talking, I can see your words being applied to anybody beyond typical mens' hair length. I am sure you would not want to be described this way and see no reason that attitude be passed on to another, especially here.

Nor would I, though I like the length. (But it is a practical thing..........like every time you go to sit down or do anything for that matter.) I'm just aiming much shorter, like meaning waist-length. In my case, more than good enough for me.
