AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!

I am somewhat suicidal here... (well not really... but not far from it!)
Just did a re-coloring of my hair (three months since last time, so it was time). I know most of you are against that, but if you really don't like your natural color you don't really have much of a choice.
Anyhow, a LOT, LOT; LOT of hair fell of! Not sure if it's from the scrubbing and pulling to get the color over the entire hair, or the chemicals. But it sure almost got me a heart attack!
PLZ someone tell me it's not a lot, I am REALLY FREAKED HERE... (I usually get depressed seeing the normal daily amount)

Hmm... the board apparently don't check for URLs, trying again (if it doesn't work, do a copy-paste...)

Well, it does look like quite a clump. . .
but sometimes that happens after a coloring. It should be temporary
so keep an eye on it and see what your 'clumps' of hair look like
in a few weeks from now.
You should not RUB your hair too much under ANY circumstances...
Hair may be strong, but chemicals and other forms of physical damage
can cause breakage.
Try not to use HoT water when cleansing your hair.
And be super gentle with it until "things settle down."
Wash gently and use a good quality conditioner.
Let us know how things go..and...
Good Luck!

Temporary, I sure hope it is!
About 17 hours since I did the coloring, and have calmed down a bit ;) Still makes me really depress when thinking of all that hair though, but at least I am not suicidal ;P
This morning when removing tangles and combing out the hair I only lost FOUR strands, even counting the brush! Can't remember when that happened last, so probably (I hope) it was mostly hair about to fall of soon, resulting in almost none falling of today. Still looks like a LOT, but I hope it won't effect the look and thickness of the hair.

Dude, I know this sounds like of lame, but when guys tamper with their hair (coloring, perms, etc.) at some point it catches up to them. As much as I want a different color sometimes, I'm content to leave my hair along and let it keep growing. If you must color, go to a salon, pay a huge price, get it done right, and then if it falls out, get your money back or some professional help. Sorry, not the news you want, dude, but I have learned from my own experience and that of many buds that guys need to leave their hair alone most of the time unless you let a pro salon take care of it for you. The grocery store stuff is trash anyway, as well as many products in the "beauty supply" places in the malls.

Sacrifice! Other desires (such as coloring, perming, straightening, etc) that a person may have as far as their hair is concerned may need to take a back seat to growth in order for the hair to preserve it's optimum health, not to mention growth rate. I can't say that I have any desire to alter my hair in any way from it's natural state, but I could imagine that if I did want any of those things, I wouldn't give into those desires because I have learned they can be damaging. Anything that can be potentially harmful to my hair paranoids me and I stay away from it. That's how important my hair growth is to me. I want my hair looooong, and healthy, so I shampoo and condition once a week, and handle my hair with gentle hands. A person needs to decide which is more important and go from there. Peace!

Dunno what to tell ya, bud... I haven't colored my hair in 10 years. I've just learned to accept the idea that natural is better. Anything to maintain optimum health...
