Curl Amplifier curl reactivating cream by Vogue International. Found at CVS. I've been using it for a couple of days and have been very happy so far. It's not a gel; it really just helps bind the hairs into locks better, so there's more definition and shine. My hair feels much more natural because it's not sticky or crunchy like it can be with gel. I highly recommend the stuff.
You can see some pictures on my progress page (link below). November update just uploaded.

Great progress, Dan. I'm glad you quickly dismissed the two week rule because longhair is obviously for you. :-)
Cheers.

Dan,
Looks great!! I am jealous, but i guess if that's what my mane will look like in a few more months it IS worth it... some questions:
how much does this "curl amplifier" cost about? have u tried physique's "spiral cream"? just tried some today... works.. but I need too much for my hair and it's expensive.
also how, do you keep the hair out of your face in the second of the new pics..? unless when it grows longer it is easier to do... mine is about 8 inches now (same type, curly) and I can't get it to stay back... it's in my face all the time

Well not exactly, as it looks like your hair is much curlier than mine, but basically, yes.

$3

Yes, but I find that it's not really strong enough for me.

It looks like the first inch or two is tucked behind my ears, and the rest if from gravity's effect on length. Short answer: see you in another year. :)
Good luck.
your hair's more afro-ish

dans goes straight after its tied back while drying, but yours is a much stronger curl and looks like it could be tied back for hours while drying and still not be straight

: Dan,
Looks great, but you are cursed with a problem. With curly hair, you accentuate plumpness. You hair is fine, but you need to drop 25 pounds to look lots better, man.

Um, thanks, I think. Actually, according to my most recent skin fold test, I'm at 10.7% body fat, so in theory, I don't have 25 pounds of fat on my body. I would like to get down to about 8% and build another five or so in the chest and shoulders. In all honestly, I am right on the cusp of really cutting down nicely. I have a decent amount of muscle, covered by the SLIGHTEST layer of fat. So if I can get down to 8% BF or so, I'm convinced that I'll be pretty happy. I'm getting there. I work very hard at it, and I know it's not happeneing overnight.

Looks good Dan!
I'm just curious, but have you measured your hair recently? I'm sure it's not the same all over, but I'm just curious how different sections add up.

Thanks. Never measured it before, but it looks like 12-13"

have u seen this? it's basically a gel you can spray... from loreal vive curl shaping series (ie the green one)...
i tried it... it's ok... but if you spray too much makes hair go hard...
actually it does kinda what loreal melting gel does for me... but maybe i am not using it correctly... i just spray it everywhere... not on tips of hair or anything like that....
