I've decided to keep my hair...

Thanks to all who responded to my long rant down below. I've decided to at least wait out for a while longer, to keep my hair. I got a sizable trim about 2 weeks ago and it looks much better than it once did. But for some reason I had been losing patience, and needed something to take my mind off constantly thinking about my hair.
I will have new pictures taken within a week or so (hopefully), so you'll all get to see how my hair looks with the relatively new trim (which I like). I'll probably straighten my hair for the pics, and possibly do some additional pics when my hair is scrunched (curlier).
As for the trim I had a few weeks ago, my hair feels much thicker and smoother than it did. Also, maybe I just needed some time to NOT think about my hair. Thanks again!

You sound a lot more sure of yourself now. Sometimes you do just need to forget about your hair. Even if you don't like how it looks when you tie it back, just do it anyway to get it out of the way for a while and get on with things. Before you know it your hair will be longer and behaving differently. I would urge you not to straighten it simply because I think your hair looks cool just the way it is. Try other things that are easier on the hair than straightening, like experimenting with different conditioners or the way or how often you shampoo or something like that. Just brushing my hair when it's not dried out from shampoo will get it a lot straighter and real easy to manage. Instead of just ponytailing your hair try a half tail, or maybe try hair clips, I absolutly love those things. I let my little brother try them and he won't give them back. Experiment and have fun with your hair. But if it is annoying you just keep it out of your way. Bandannas, wave caps, and skull caps are GREAT for that. Enjoy your hair when it's behaving good, and keep it out of your way when it annoys you. That's the best piece of advice I can offer.

Thats cool Evil! As you say maybe you were just thinking too much.
Sometimes if its possible, its best just to go for a long time without
even thinking about your hair. Focus on other things.

EM,
What if you decided to keep somewhat long hair? That means do a sort of shag look. Don't keep it all the same length. Think Ashton Kutcher. I think that that may be a better look for you than all over one length.

You have really great hair and I'm glad you've decided to keep it long. I'll look forward to future progress photos of it getting even longer. Great color. Is it natural? Nice soft waves too!>
Alright...

...great to hear! EM, could you please also post a pic of your hair without any straightening or products whatsoever? I do have to say that you've got some great hair, but I want to make sure I'm viewing your hair in a 'natural' state. Now that you've at least temporarily decided to keep it, I can say again that I really do think that your facial features go VERY well with long hair, whether it's up or down.

While I never bothered offering my own words of support, I am glad to hear you've chosen to keep your hair long. I can guarantee you it's a decision you won't regret.
Grats, and well done!

Cool, we all go throught these things. The important thing is to not act rashly. Invoking the two week rule was really smart.

Yeah - I'll add my voice to those below... I'm glad you took the time to consider what you really wanted, and I'm glad your happier about your hair.
I think there will always be days when it gets on your nerves but you need to focus on other things, maybe find yourself some "safe" styles for the days that it causes you problems, that way its much easier to forget about it.
Anyways, glad you decided to keep it.
Thank you!

Your hair has been looking better and better as it grows to me. I held my tongue when you said you were considering cutting, because that is your personal choice. But...
I would really love to see what you look like with your hair to mid/lower back. I bet it would look awsome!
