Need a sleek looking Shamp/Conditioner!

Well I am getting pretty tired of using Aussie Moist... It's effects seem to be wearing off on me. :(
I really want to have hair that is kind of sleek looking... I am able to achieve this sometimes, but usually my hair just gets used to shampoos and conditioners and then it starts to look rather dull.
I may try getting Loreal Vive again, but am a bit reluctant to.
Does anyone know of any better Shampoos and Conditioners that would make my hair look really sleek, smooth, and healthy?
This looks like the best stuff I have come across yet... It's from Matrix and it's called the sleek.look line.
http://www.matrix.com/products/sleek_look/
It's a bit expensive, but I'm starting to wonder if I should just dish out the 10 or 12 bucks and get something I may be satisfied with, rather than buy a bunch of drug store brands that don't do it for me.

Hi - just wondering do you use a clarifying shampoo?..cause if your using the same shampoo/cond for ages an it stops working it could be just buildup. Especially ones that claim to smooth cause they usually contain loads of demithicone which builds up and stops your conditioner working properly. A clarifier once a week like neutrogena clean I think (I use Nioxin once a week) can really help with dull looking hair.

Does build up not necessarily mean build up as in gunk and oil and crap like that? Cause I always thought build up meant your hair got all junked up and nasty. If build up also means your hair just starts getting dull, then yes, I probably do have a problem with that, and need a clarifying shampoo. Any reccomendations, or will a cheap clarifyer do just fine?
Try Mop C system

I guess there's nasty build up of grease gunk etc (yuk! - a regular shampoo removes this tho) but no, silicones coat the hair and they form a barrier which prevents conditioner from working correctly which can lead to dull hair - i think this is why many people hate pantene an drugstore brands cause they're loaded with silicones to smooth but not moisturise. You should really notice a difference when u use one (any I guess is fine neutrogena clean (?- its purple anyhow) )is supposed to be great see www.makeupalley.com under product reviews (the best website ever!) your hair will feel v.clean. They basically strip the hair of all things coating it which shouldnt be there, follow with a good conditioner tho or your hair will be massive! its great to use a treatment after as your hair will really benefit eg protein, but still use conditioner after. Oh an only use it about once a week every two weeks cause too much will dry your hair...you just basically wanna give it a fresh start.
I'm not silicone bashing btw - I sometimes use serum's myself but most regular shampoo's are not able to remove them fully so they build up over time...They are good for course (? - cant spell these days!) hair tho, but ive been using MOP C system lately which is silicone and sodium lauryl sulfate free and my hair is smoother than ever! So I guess SLS cant be good for hair (its the foaming agent in like all shampoo's).

I see- thanks for the informative post! From now on, when I look for shampoos and conditioners, how do I know whether they have silicones and stuff in them or not?

it'll have ingredients that end it "cone" eg demithicone, cyclomethicone, trimethicone. The higher up in the list, the more there is in the product. Things with sulfate after them are foaming agents (detergents) eg sodium lauryl sulfate. Whist this is considered the most gentle of these on hair if you wash daily like me it can be a bit harsh I think and irritating on the scalp. Thats why i use mop c system as it contain no detergents or silicones, and I've noticed if you stop using them you dont need them really...

Hey, I have been usin Aussie clarifier and it seems to be the only shampoo that works without my hair becomming weighted down. For me using any other shampoo ever since I used Pantene has been way too many products in my hair, so I have to use clarifier everyday, which is a pain because they don't carry it in stores any longer!sob* So now I get to stock up on tons of shampoo bottles, not condtioner to find out which one works best, several brands so far -----------------------
Got any ideas?

I've been using Redken Smooth Down and am fairly happy with it.
