Yeah, thats a question I have been interested in lately. I want a product that gives that slick wet look with a lot of movement; don't want stiffening gels for my hair. I am at the 8 month growth stage about 6inchs length. I have also wanted to recreate the look a lot of the longer-haired footballers who have wet hair for the match. I don't want the beckham look because I have dark hair and don't want to dye it blonde or wear a hair band. I like the hair style of arsenals robert pires and want my hair about that length. I live in the UK so i would like suggestions about products. Thanks.

I am at the 9 month growth period right now and the only product I have found to maintain that all day wet look is groom and clean made by suave. Any local grocery store should have it. Just add a coin size amount while your hair is still wet. That should do it.

First thing that comes to mind is Brylcream....if that stuff from the 50s & 60s still exists. My mom used to put that stuff in my hair back then. I thought it looked pretty cool.
One day though, she mistakenly switched the Brylcream and the toothpaste....not a good idea!

Where are you looking for his photo? I did a google search
and it would appear that he probably just uses shampoo and
conditioner. The photos I found on Google showed no
really "wet" look.

Whenever I just use shampoo and conditioner my hair goes fluffy as hell.
I don't know why but his hair always looks wet to me

Infusium may be called a leave in conditioner, but trust me, it's not like conditioner. Conditioner makes my hair go fluffy, too. Infusium will wet it down, try it.

The best product I found if you want that wet look is Sebastian Wet. It goes on smooth, is not sticky nor does it make the hair coarse. It also smells great and makes the hair smell great. If you are slicking your hair back into a ponytail, I would definitely recommend this.

I have very long hair. Back when I started growing it past my shoulders it drove me nuts because it is naturally wavy/curly. My biggest mistake was brushing it out, which made it wirey. I found Infusium, which you can still get. It is a leave in conditioner after you towel dry your hair. It gave me the wet look instantly and tamed my hair. My advice on top of trying this is to do two things: One) instead of towel drying your hair like most people do by scrunching it up and moving the towel back and forth, pull the hair downwards with the towel wrapped around it. This prevents breakage bigtime. Trust me, this will make your hair healthier and help retain moisture. When you dry your hair with a towel by shaking it all up, instead of pulling it downwards easily, it frizes it to a degree and separates the hair. Two) If you have any waves at all, don't use a brush. Throw combs and brushes away and simply use your fingers to pull downwards. This will enable your hairs to cling to each other retaining moisture and preventing the frizzies. I'm 34 and started growing my hair long at 16. I've never used a brush or comb since I was 20 and it always looks great.
Most guys that start growing their hair long will notice it curve up or start to get a little wave just before it passes the base of the neck. Mistake number one: We have a tendency to over comb our hair at this point because we want to see it longer. By combing it alot, we think we can make it longer by stretching out the wave. STOP DOING THIS if you are. Patience! Give your hair time to get longer and it will start to straighten out. Don't try and comb your hair in the back too much to make it a little longer if it naturally starts to curl a bit or get wavy.
This reply was long and so is my hair. And the years I've learned how to manage it and keep it healthy are long too. Take my advice and you'll have nice, healhy long hair.
NO BLOW DRYERS! NO BUNCHING UP THE HAIR ON TOP TO TOWEL DRY! If you have waves or curls, NO BRUSHES OR COMBS - use your fingers and pull down gently. One last trick, let a day go between shampoo - it lets your natural oils retain moisture. Shampoo strips moisture.
Here's to those of us that don't live by the corporate mold. Til hair do us part!!!
