Pics - Progress/Replacements

The last pics I sent a couple of months ago was taken using my mobile phone, with terrible lightning and bad quality.
Received my new webcam yesterday, and thought I'd try taking some pics, and see if they looked more "normal". Still some really weird lightning and color balance. But a huge difference from the earlier pics, so thought I'd post them, also shows the progress over the last few months.
A note, the hair has been straightened using a straightening iron (only way I can get the hair to look "normal" ;)
Even though I've managed to "temporarily" remove most of the frizz, there are still some, but for some reason they are invisible to cameras, hmm... ;)
Anyway...:

Awesome hair and it looks spectacular on you. You just need to smile its much more becoming and perhaps when taking pictures you might try a light shirt so your hair shows better. Keep up the great progress it looks awesome on you.

As mentioned, received my new webcam yesterday... So of course wanted try it out... Joined a video chat system... One of the first things I hear is that I look like a girl!!
It's not like I got a single comment, that I could take. But it seemed everyone agreed!
What the ¤&%£@£!! Just 20 or so close-minded people in one place, or is there some truth to it?
I've never heard anyone I've met tell me that. But perhaps most people just don't dare to comment on such a thing face-to-face...
I am NOT going to cut my hair, but comments like these does NOT make me happy...

I wouldn't worry about it. Your hair looks great! You shouldn't have to alter your appearance to fit into their pre-concieved notions as to what a guy should look like. Keep it growing!

Thanks, of course in the end you shoulnd't care what other people think. But if 99% of the people think think I look like a girl it's not as easy to ignore.
However I have decided that the people telling me this are probably just crazy! ;)
Probably just not used to seeing a guy with long hair, even though the number of oppinions... At least I can hope that's it ;)

Look at it this way. People will only say that you look like a girl if your hair looks really good. So it's a compliment! Don't worry about it. I don't.
You get used to getting weird comments from time to time. One woman insisted that I must either be gay or a headbanger, as apparently she thought those were the only two kinds of guy with long hair. Never mind the fact that long hair is not atall common amongst gay men. I told her I was a headbanger just to shut her up. Now, I like headbanging music well enough, but I don't think of myself as some sort of headbanger stereotype.

People always seem to want to stick you into a folder when having long hair. That sort of thing rarely bother's me though, at least not so far.
Thanks for the response.

When told you look like a girl, just say "thank you".
It may confuse people. Some people may be nervous about having complimented a guy. I have a short haired friend in his 50s who says that he would cut his hair if people thought he was a woman. I don't understand that. I enjoy occassionally confusing someone.
Androgeny isn't a bad thing, by the way. I wouldn't put you really high on the androgeny scale (no insult intended), but some long-haired men do look more androgenous. It can look quite good.

How about looking at it this way: if you were a girl, they'd be saying that you looked like a man! Anyone here disagree? I doubt it. You look like a man with long hair. That's the problem. Too many of your new online "friends" don't have "man with long hair" in their "hard drive".

I guess that is an option, however my facial hair color does not match my hair color, so looks a bit strange if I would do that.
They are probably just crazy anyway ;), even though it did upset me, I am not going to let that effect how I want to look.

You think mine matches?
Well, it used to. (wink)
Actually, I've known some young guys whose beard and hair were different colors, and the look was quite striking. But as you say, you've got to have your own look - few longhairs would dispute a man's need to do that:

Sounds like you dropped into a very sheltered chat room... Probably one of those full of clique (sp) small town folk. You know the places... towns where there's nothing to do but surf the next and chat with people you don't know (bit like the place I live.)
They live such sheltered inbred lives they have no idea what the rest of the world is like and they have no tolerance to individualism...

Maybe it's the web cam or the group. I don't know much about web cams, but I'd guess if the light, color, focus or contrast was poor they might not be able to see your enough of you to see if you are male or female. It could be the room your web cam is in, the web cam, the software or the size of images displayed on the site or the other users computers can't display good images. Most of all, it seems it's a place where a bunch of jerks always pick on anyone new who tries to join the group.

I'm a little late on this but just wanted to let you know you do NOT look like a girl nor I have never seen a man having long hair who looked a tiny bit close to a girl(no matter wich style). You are as manly as any other man, just having differnt hairstyle. My opinion to that and don't get discouraged, your hair looks awsome!!

I don't mind an occasional "ma'am". Usually, this comes from someone who sees the back of my head. When I turn around, the other person is usually embarrassed. If I have facial hair, it is even more obvious that I am not a woman. After twenty years, I am used to it.
Your hair does look good. Take the comments as a compliment that your hair looks as nice as a girl's hair. There are some longhairs which look better than others.

Your hair looks great and it has a nice length. It's obvious you take good care of it. I'd be curious to see what it looks like without straightening. FWIW, you DO NOT look like "a girl". I don't care if 200 people told you that, it isn't true. You have a masculine face structure.
P.S. The way to fix the color in your pictures is with photo procesing software that has an "auto color balance" feature (most packages do).

I'll try to post another reply to you later today or tomorrow with my hair in a tale. The problem is that my hair gets really "thin looking" when having had it in a tale for a while. I used to have the hair in a tale most of the time, but am trying to minimize it to when I really need it.
I've grown my hair for a little over two years (was two years in august/september).

hmm... huh?? I don't see how I can be "hiding" more than anyone else with long hair wearing it loose? Long hair does take a lot of "space", and I do prefere the look of wearing it loose, regardless who's hair it is.

Agreed me too... its just that a lot of folk will push their back behind there ears and stuff even when its loose... yours is always very much down... (though it suits you.)
Sorry, I was probably applying a Stereotype too freely.... (ie: hairdown in face="shy") What I was trying to say was your hair looks awesome in a tail as well...

In my oppinion long hair worn loose always looks best when straight and close to the sides of the face, or when all the hair is placed on the back. It's not long enough yet to have on the back...
Don't know if I should say this, in case I get laughed at ;) And I don't say that my hair in any way resembles that, but one of the major inspirations for me, on how to wair the hair and for it to look, has always been Phoebee in the TV show Friends ;) I really like the look of it, super-straight, long and close to the cheeks.

Not laughing - I'd agree she has really nice hair... though I'm more inspired by Jennifer Aniston.

: ...looking girls around. You look NOTHING like a girl to me. Anyway, human beings have some pretty obvious primary and secondary sexual characteristics that I'm sure anyone would spot if they saw you in person !!
Great hair BTW.

Looks great dude!!! Keep growing!!!!

: The last pics I sent a couple of months ago was taken using my mobile phone, with terrible lightning and bad quality.
: Received my new webcam yesterday, and thought I'd try taking some pics, and see if they looked more "normal". Still some really weird lightning and color balance. But a huge difference from the earlier pics, so thought I'd post them, also shows the progress over the last few months.
: A note, the hair has been straightened using a straightening iron (only way I can get the hair to look "normal" ;)
: Even though I've managed to "temporarily" remove most of the frizz, there are still some, but for some reason they are invisible to cameras, hmm... ;)
: Anyway...:

You look like a girl, huh? You must be surrounded by baseball umpires. LOL! Very jealous short-haired baseball umpires. What do 'they' do when you introduce yourself and you don't sound like a girl?
